  • About Me:
I have been a practicing diagnostic radiologist in the Boston metro area since 2010 after completing my residency at Lahey Clinic and a fellowship in Abdominal Imaging at Brigham and Women's Hospital. I enjoy radiology because every patient's images and medical history create a unique puzzle that must be solved using a combination of medical knowledge and an understanding of advanced imaging technology in order to explain a patient's symptoms or, even better, to find disease before it becomes symptomatic.

It is immensely satisfying to know that I am able to answer patients' questions about their health and help guide their care, often when they have been dealing with an unexplained and distressing symptom. Although my specialty by training is abdominal imaging, I am also proficient in reading musculoskeletal and neurologic imaging with a particular focus on CT and MRI imaging.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and three kids. Some of my hobbies include photography, running, hiking, cooking, and gardening. I look forward to serving the patients and doctors of the North Shore communities for many years to come!

As a radiologist, I have a central role in making these diagnoses, working closely with my clinical colleagues.

My radiology practice is multifaceted, with a reach that involves many sub-specialties in medicine, and patients of all ages and backgrounds. Radiology depends heavily on imaging technology, which has developed at phenomenal speed over my career. I enjoy continually learning new methods of imaging and diagnosing disease, as the practice of radiology continues to evolve.

  • Fellowship:
New England Medical Center - Body Imaging
  • Certification:

  • About Me:
Breast imaging has evolved over the past three decades. I have had the privilege of participating in this subspecialty from its infancy to its current multimodality, high-tech status. After graduating from Tufts Medical School in 1987, I took a position in the Surgical Department at Kings College Hospital in London while my husband, Dr. Henry Frissora, completed a surgical fellowship in Breast and Vascular Surgery. It was during this year that I learned about breast cancer in depth, honed my clinical skills at a busy London breast center and was exposed to the nuances of breast surgery, often serving as first assistant.

Concurrently, Kings College Hospital was serving as a pilot site for screening mammography during the initiation of the National Breast Cancer Screening Program in the UK. I was privy to listen in on meetings between government officials, expert public health officials and the medical leaders in breast health as they hashed out their strong views which often erupted in heated debates. Little did I know how this solid background would serve as a launching pad to my future professional career.

I am proud to be part of a team of solid, devoted breast imagers, fully committed to embracing new technologies as they prove worthy, in order to ensure that our department remains at the cutting edge for the community in which we serve.

And yes, I do enjoy my free time! I am a Bikram yoga enthusiast, having practiced many forms of yoga for over 20 years. I enjoy alpine skiing, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and boating. I dabble in golf and paddle sports. But mostly, I enjoy spending time with family and friends over a home cooked meal!

  • About Me:
I began my radiology career nearly 30 years ago, initially training as a radiography student and eventually working my way up to becoming a board certified, fellowship trained radiologist. I was initially attracted to radiology because it enabled me to practice the humanitarian art of medicine in an ever advancing, cutting-edge technical environment. Bostonian by birth, I am Irish by heritage. I returned to the motherland for my medical school training. Medicine in Ireland is very much taught in the classical tradition, with emphasis on basic sciences, history taking and physical examination. With that solid foundation in the fundamentals of diagnosis, I was then able to round out my medical education with diagnostic radiology residency and fellowship. During my career, I have been fortunate to practice radiology at nearly every level . . . as a technologist, medical school instructor, college professor and finally as a private practice radiologist with Beverly Radiology Associates. I have worked with all populations, including top level athletes like The Boston Celtics and the US Olympic Gymnastics Team. Through my affiliation with BRA, I have even been fortunate to bring my skills overseas for volunteer medical missions in Guatemala. In my spare time, I am an avid musician. I enjoy playing multiple instruments, recording, mixing and playing live whenever possible. When not in the radiology department or recording studio, I may be found sailing or in front of the TV indulging in a good documentary.

During school, I was lucky enough to be able to develop a strong background in the visual arts, thanks to mentors who encouraged me to explore my passion for design and artistic expression. For me, the highly “visual” field of Radiology was therefore a natural choice! Early in my training, I learned to love the subtleties and challenges of Breast Imaging, and this has been my sole focus for the majority of my career.

I am strongly committed to providing comprehensive, compassionate, expert care to our Multidisciplinary Breast Health Center patients, using state-of-the-art imaging modalities and a sub-specialized knowledge base. My contributions within our practice have focused on employing updated technology to optimize workflow efficiency, creating clear and concise standardized reporting, and advancing our Breast Imaging and Intervention initiative.

During my time off, my husband and I try our best to keep up with our three highly active, athletic boys. I still enjoy “creating” whenever possible, including dabbling in art, photography, functional design, needlepoint, and even jewelry making!

  • About Me:
I became a physician in an unconventional way. I graduated magna cum laude from Merrimack College in North Andover Massachusetts with a BS in business administration. My plan was to take the CAP examination and work for a big accounting firm. I quickly decided that accounting was not my lot in life. Instead, I returned to Merrimack College to complete my pre-medical school education.

After completing my BA in biology, I headed to Chicago, Illinois to attend medical school at Chicago Medical School. During my third and fourth year medical school rotation, I worked primarily at inner city hospitals, including Cook County Hospital in Chicago. My experience as a third and fourth year student helped shape my future goal of becoming a radiologist.

After my first year of medical school, I married my husband. He also relocated from New England to Chicago so he could attend law school. My husband and I decided to stay in Chicago for my residency. I completed my intern year at Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago, Illinois and my four year radiology residency at the University of Illinois in Chicago. My residency at the University of Illinois exposed me to all facets of radiology.

Following completion of my radiology residency, I returned to Massachusetts for a fellowship in body imaging at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, as well as Marlborough Hospital. In 2001, I relocated to the North Shore and started my career with Beverly Radiology Associates.

My passion is to travel. My husband , daughter and I have traveled all over the world. We have experienced great trips and many other cultures.
